Inspired by the home kitchens of Panamanian-Caribbeans.

At Mola, enjoy housemade recipes using fresh & high-quality ingredients in a vibrant and communal restaurant in the heart of the Adams Morgan neighborhood of Washington, D.C.  Serving a modern twist to humble Panamanian foods & beverages, Mola resembles the special occasions in the Panamanian community, shaped by the waves of culture from the Caribbean Coast. Grab a seat at the table, and trade good moments with others.

Eat with family.

We grew up expecting the finest Panamanian cuisine at special occasions from the best homecooks in the family and the Panamanian community.  Without a doubt, the remarkable cooks’ food was the center of every event.  After years of enjoying these festive foods, we would love to share that celebration in a bite.

What is a mola?

Located in the family room, living room, and kitchens of Panamanian families, this colorful handmade appliqué is the centerpiece of celebratory gatherings. The bold colors for Mola—from the brand to the dishes—was inspired by the vivid fabrics of the indigenous Guna women of Panamá.
